According to Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune, it would require a "miracle turnaround" for Norv Turner to stay on as the Chargers' head coach in 2012.
"It will take a miracle turnaround for Norv Turner to be the coach beyond this year," said Acee on NFL Network's Around the League segment on Monday. The Chargers have dropped five straight games and are in last place in the AFC West. ESPN's Jerry Rice also blamed Turner for the Chargers' 2011 collapse on SportsCenter Monday. 38-10. It's amazing really... same thing every year. Chargers look out of it, make a late charge, everybody starts hyping them again, and then they lay one huge egg with a week or two to go. Did the same thing last year... came on strong, then got whacked in Cincy 2nd to last week and KC clinched the division.

Rivers is a talented QB without poise. You rattle him, you beat him. That's more on him than Norv.

Great point, 'fire' is essential at qb... but he constantly goes off the cliff like a petulant child... scowling, screaming & kicking.

Well I'm pretty sure even if we hired Jesus himself, once he'd been Hunt'd he have a hard time burning a bush, much less coaching a football team!

Rivers is one thing Gunther could do right while here, flustrate him

It will be 5 years since Cowher retired. Hopefully his old staff has moved on & he has to hire Marino, Sharpe & Boomer

In interviews over the past several weeks, owner Dean Spanos "never once" denied that Turner's firing was forthcoming, and sources familiar with Spanos' thinking say the owner "feels he has no choice" but to relieve Turner of his duties. "There reaches a point of no return," said one source. Turner will be fired with the second best regular season win percentage (48-31, .608) in Chargers franchise history. He should quickly resurface as an offensive coordinator, and media speculation has the Jets as a potential suitor.
