At the risk of sounding like BEP, you're projecting wildly here. As of May, at least, he had a PERSONAL approval rating of 72%, indicating that 3/4ths of Americans liked him as a person, while his job approval was hoving at somewhat over 50%.

I'm sure that rating has taken a hit since then, but I doubt it's dropped 30% as nothing has happened since then to tank views on him as a person, as opposed to job performance.

Of course, by then Volcker had choked inflation out of the economy and things were starting to trend positively which helped Reagan in '84 and the rest of his term. Our current recession is in many ways deeper and more far-reaching, with few easy fixes (or hard fixes) obvious.

Sorry, I'm not your research assistant.

Obviously, different sides spin it different ways. Essentially, however, Reagan's first three years were more intensely worse (higher unemployment, inflation etc.) early on, but recovery was definitely starting by year 3. The current recession isn't as steep, but more resistant to resolution, seemingly.

Either way, nobody would be excited about living through either economy.

No need for name calling. I understand your point. Like you and any reasonably prudent person, I question statistics. What I go by is that 99.9% of the people I know not only dissaprove of the job obama is doing but also very much dislike him as a person. His attitude toward who we are and what we stand for is offensive, his views of our America are insulting, his demeanor is unacceptable.
