yep, pretty much. ISU doesn't field a team because they have a very long wrestling tradition, and they aren't as large as OU or MU, and don't have a T. Boone Pickens to fund the additional large women's sport that would be necessary to play baseball.

Lots of people don't care at all, baseball only gets a flicker of interest, but that flicker is a bonfire compared to the other olympic sports.

Mizzou is doing OK today. Up 4-2, bottom of the 4th against KU.

SEC baseball is a different world. Mizzou will need a substantive facilities upgrade. Fans, like, actually sell out college baseball games in the SEC.

School Baseball stadium Capacity
Florida McKethan Stadium 6,000
Georgia Foley Field 3,291
Kentucky Cliff Hagan Stadium 3,000
South Carolina Carolina Stadium 8,200
Tennessee Lindsey Nelson Stadium 3,800
Vanderbilt Hawkins Field 3,700
Alabama Sewell-Thomas Stadium 6,571
Arkansas Baum Stadium 10,737
Auburn Plainsman Park 4,096
LSU Alex Box Stadium 10,150
Ole Miss Swayze Field 6,000
Miss State Dudy Noble Field 15,000

Mizzou's Taylor Stadium is 3,031, only beating Kentucky in terms of seating capacity. Half of the SEC is double the size or more of Taylor Stadium. That speaks to the baseball culture difference in going to the SEC from the Big 12.

Closest you'll find in this area is going to be Wichita State. 7851.

Who cares, Missouri was just 28-26 this year, they'll get beat by Oklahoma, and then not make the tournament. /wickedson

Still, it's pretty good for a team that has already been eliminated.
