By the time this movie comes out nobody will be playing the game anymore. They are about 5 years to late on this one.

The movie has to appeal to more than just the fan boys. Fans of the franchise will go see it whether they're still playing or not.

But if Blizz/Legendary can't reach out to everyone else, then the movie is doomed.

And judging by the lack of interest in this thread, they're not off to a good start.

I remember being excited to hear that there was a Dungeons & Dragons movie in the works back when I played the game in college. It took something like 20 years for it to finally happen and when it did it was pretty lame and disappointing. I hope the Blizzard people do a better job than TSR (and later Wizards of the Coast) did on the D&D movie.

I played the original Warcraft and read a book trilogy when I was in high school. Thrall was pretty cool.

I'll watch the movie but I'm not excited about it.

I think most people are like you, in which they enjoyed the original RPG game. The movie is suppose to be based on Game 1 & 2.
