No surprise - those counties are deep blue every election day.

It is a republican caucus. I attended the Jackson county one. It was an extremely red crowd. They had to lock the doors at 10 and we still had tons of Paul supporters that couldn't get it. We won because Paul supporters are extremely passionate about our candidate....simple as that. Paul supporters show up and will wait in line for hours (I was there from 7:30 until 4:30 and the doors didn't open till 9:30 ish). Paul has been doing quite well in these caucus states (he won Greene county in Missouri which is where Springfield resides, and that is a huge Santorum region).
By the way there were candidates there that were allowed to make a quick 2 minute speech and there is a candidate running for federal congress in the 5th district against Turk. This guy is legit he gave a quick speech (not scripted or anything) and it gave people chills. He recieved a huge ovation and he will give Turk a run for his money. His name was Jason Greene and his website is www.Greeneforcongress.com. He lays out the issues and tells you his convictions, I'm thoroughly impressed. Speaking of Turk, he wasn't even at the caucus, which is the area he represents. Alot of people thought it was rather weak that he didn't come, let alone make a speech or stance on a candidate one way or another. How can Turk stand up against Cleaver and the establishment in DC if he can't even stand in front if his own constituents and tell them what he believes in and who he supports?....typical politician. So he won the county caucus? Wow, we've really lowered the bar on what to call a victory.

These delegates' votes only count at the next level caucus. The delegates who represent Missouri's votes at the GOP convention haven't been selected yet.

In the 5th Congressional District,
Ron Paul won 63 delegates, won all 144 alternate delegates, won 105 delegates to the Republican state convention, and won 144 alternates to the state convention. In the 6th Congressional District, Dr. Paul swept all 39 delegates, won all 39 delegates to the state convention, and won 144 alternates to the state convention. The countywide totals for Dr. Paul include 246 Congressional delegates, more than double Mitt Romney’s 120, and 360 alternate delegates for Ron Paul, a clean sweep in that regard. Santorum and Newt Gingrich won zero Congressional delegates and alternate delegates in Jackson County. |

So, what's the tally? Is Paul second behind Romney?
