According to The State of Columbia, S.C., South Carolina trustees have called a meeting to discuss "a contractual matter." The Kansas City Star also has reported Martin's hire, citing an unnamed source close to the coach.

Martin is a native of Miami and coached high school basketball there for 15 years. He joined Northeastern University as an assistant coach in 2000 before working in the same capacity for Cincinnati and Kansas State. He was named coach of the Wildcats in 2007 and has led Kansas State to three straight NCAA tournament appearances.

Nothing final....Frank might be trying to gain leverage over Curry the KSU AD. All reports are there is a rift between the two. I suspect most KSU fans would rather see Curry go than Martin. ...wait and see on this one.

This is a bad deal for the Big 12. He's not an elite coach and I really thought he was a poor game time coach but the ****er could recruit and put together tough basketball teams. I think the probability of getting a coach that will get better results than Martin is low.
