LeBron was certainly the biggest reason as anybody who watched the games could clearly see. There's a reason he won the MVP and had one of the greatest and most dominant NBA Finals stretches in NBA history.

Durant has a better FG%. Durant is a better 3 point shooter. Durant is a better free throw shooter. Durant has been the scoring champ for 3 years in a row. Is there some other form of scoring that is missing from this picture that makes it a wash?

I know you're ranting and raving without any clear idea of where you're going, but you might want to check your facts. LeBron has the better FG% (53.1% to 49.6%) and gets to the line more (8.1 FT a game to 7.6 FT a game). Durant only averaged 0.8 PPG more than LeBron this season and it was largely because Durant averaged one more shot a game.

Seems like a pretty obvious wash to me. In any case, the point was that scoring was only one aspect of basketball. LeBron is quite clearly better at every other aspect than Durant (and Kobe for that matter too). He's the better basketball player, he's the best player in the league.

I'm loving how LeBron did everything that his haters said he never could, played tremendous, tough, intense and statistically historic basketball at the biggest moments on the grandest stage, and they still weakly look for a way to criticize him. Yeah, while it's always nice to see phenomenal athletes compete and come through like this, I'm going to enjoy this one in particular for a long time. It was quite simply awesome to see this guy play over the last few weeks.

Your stats are pulled from the regular season in which case Durant still scored more points per game.

And yet this series will go down as the series that LeBron thoroughly dominated the OKC Thunder and outplayed Kevin Durant. It's funny how that works. It's almost like there's more to basketball than just scoring points (although LeBron can clearly do that too).
