You can call it that, but it doesn't amount to anything because Romney will be the nominee.
Getting excited about Ron Paul is like getting excited when Matt Cassel throws from more than a buck twenty in a game. Rare, but still meaningless. |

I wouldn't say it's meaningless altogether. We're changing things from within and there has been success in those areas. This is not going to be quick change to restore America.

That's actually the premise of the thread, and the point of Ron Paul's campaign. He's bringing in new voters of every demographic and reshaping the party in the process.

Getting excited about Mitt Romney is like getting excited for John Kerry.

As far as that goes Hoover, it's not Ron Paul that people are getting excited about, though he's the focus point of the movement right now. It's the return to principles that people are getting excited about - something that the establishment leadership sold piece by piece to the Democrats for a net loss.

oh sorry, I didn't read the thread, I just sat though the video of that horrendous smug cow talking as if Ron Paul was destroying the Repubs from within and stealing Romney's votes.

A VAST majority of what I have seen are really young people. Of course, there are the older Ross Perot and old school Libertarian types... but I would wager that the larger (and more significant) numbers come from the under 30 crowd.

I am not a fan of Ron Paul's fans.. never have been, likely never will be. BUT it's just idiotic to ignore and alienate them. The Republican party needs to make room for them... if they don't .. they run the risk that someone else will.

Yet, you'll vote for him.

Who do you find the least bad candidate?
I find Paul by far the most in alignment with my views but am pragmatic enough to realize he will not be the candidate. I am having a bit of a struggle with the idea of voting for Romney. I find Obama IMO the 2nd least effective President in my lifetime but, wonder if Romney may be a only slightly less offensive President? A Romney administration would bring with it the possibility of a far more cooperative congress to shove additional spending and big brother policies down our throats. The possibility occurs to me that a constantly embattled Obama with a gridlocked congress might be less damaging to the country and it makes me want to vomit. |
