What was your style in high school?

We were getting the worst pizza thread off topic so I submit this.

I was a total child of the 80's but not as Michael Jackson or MC Hammer. More Bender meets David (The Breakfast Club meets The Lost Boys)

Ripped jeans, long black overcoat, gloves with the fingers cut off, black boots with a chain wrapped around the neck... around the bottom... and back up... plain white t... mullet, earring... usually a dangly one... beard or 5 o'clock shadow... you get the picture.

I had one pair of jeans than was covered in band logos in black sharpie that I drew on myself. I ripped the zipper out and attached them with saftey pins. Pain in the ass when you have to pee btw. Another pair I ripped out about every two inches up and down the legs, front and back. You couldn't really wash those or they'd get too tangled up.

I also painted my fingernails black much of the decade and often wore some type on banadana.

I was pretty much the shit. Most girls wouldn't date me but the cool ones would. Funny thing is by the time I was in college in '88 and still dressing like that I dated a girl from my high school who dressed conservatively.... but she knew me and knew I wasn't a weirdo deep down. We dated for 2 years in fact. Besides I was just taking 80's style to an extreme.

What were you like in your "glory days."

Man, it was bad. My dad was a deadbeat and my mom was raising 3 of us boys on a shit wage, so it was either clearance crap, 1/2 Price Store crap, or hand-me-downs from my older brother.

I am the oldest so there were no hand me downs... but mom and dad struggled too so I did my best to make my new clothes look like ass.

They actually were. I just dressed the part I didn't really play it. No drugs... no drinking. I was a good kid I just had my style. Mom and I have always been close. She used to buy me earrings.

I worn jeans, a tee shirt and a letterman jacket with all the hardware. I drove an 1966 Mustange GT, red. I partied like a rock star and hung out with everyone, which included the stoners, the geeks, the punks and the headbangers. It was good times...

I was incredibly preppy, generally - Polo and Cole Haan, yet the next day I may've had on a Vision Gator tee. Or a Town & Country.

97-01 I would dress like a rock star in the late 90's. It was because I was in a few bands over the years in high school and I was always wearing baggy pants/shorts and shirts and my hair always was changing. Started out in a punk band so I had those chains on the wallet and spikes on the shoes, belt, and watch. Then moved on to a metal band and was wearing those adidas track pants with a vulgar shirt trying to make my presence known. lol
