Venus Transit in Ultra High Definition

I stuck this in the Science is Cool thread but it really deserves its own thread. If you didn't see the Transit yesterday see it in full blown awesomeness here.

Good for Venus. Nice shots.

The sun fascinates me from a conceptual perspective. It's a big fire. It's a big, uncontrolled nuclear-fueled fire. How big is it? Well, it's a fire that's going to last billions of years. That's really kind of mind-blowing.

I watched a very good NOVA a couple months back about the sun.

It is amazing how dense it is. According to NOVA, the reaction that starts deep down in the core of the sun which you eventually see as light started about the time of the last ice age. It takes that long for the reaction to make it to the surface and travel the last 9 minutes or whatever it is.

The more I read from you, the more convinced I become that you've taken psychotropic mushrooms before.
