Unbiased Mainstream Media (MSNBC and NBC) Is At It Again...

Romney is fighting a battle similar to a team trying to overcome crooked, store-bought referees...

How MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell distorts a Romney story

Remember the fun the MSM had with Republican VP Dan Quayle in a school room holding up a misspelled word, without mentioning that the class teacher was the one who'd written out the word incorrectly?

Or how they made Republican President George H.W. Bush look stupid at a grocery store photo op making conversation with a checkout clerk about how the scanner worked? The repetitive media meme for Republicans is 'out of touch.'

Well, this may be the worst one yet: Andrea Mitchell on MSNBC making fun of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney at a rally describing the purchase of a hoagie at a local store. Watch this video and see the impression you get from MSNBC's Romney film clip.

Then scroll down for what Romney really said.

Wow, what a disconnected rich dummy, eh?

Except, thanks to the keen eye of a conservative blogger named Scooper Mexican and Politico's Dylan Byers, there's a tad more to the story. Romney had described the bureaucratic nightmare that one small businessman, an optometrist, endured dealing with the federal government over a simple address change.

Romney compared that to buying a hoagie. Here's what the Republican actually said with the words MSNBC deleted in bold::

"I was at WaWa's, I went in to order a sandwich. You press a little touchtone keypad -- you touch this, touch this, go pay the cashier -- thereís your sandwich. Itís amazing. People in the private sector have learned how to compete. It's time to bring some competition to the federal government."

Wee bit of difference there.

What a convenient politically-compatible piece of film editing. Not the first time this has happened. Remember NBC's creative editing of that George Zimmerman 911 call back in April that made it seem like he volunteered Trayvon Martin's skin color, when he was actually only answering the police dispatcher's question?

You gotta watch what you watch and read every second now not just for what's there, but for what's not there. Especially, it seems, on NBC programs.

What does this:
"I was at WaWa's, I went in to order a sandwich. You press a little touchtone keypad -- you touch this, touch this, go pay the cashier -- thereís your sandwich. Itís amazing."

Have to do with this:
"People in the private sector have learned how to compete. It's time to bring some competition to the federal government."

Yes, we get it, Mitt. You went to WaWa's. What your quote doesn't show is that he kept going on about going to Wawa's. He's a regular dude. Went to WaWa's. Got it.

I really hate when the MSM is mean to people by showing stuff they said and stuff they did.

It has to do with the fact that he was comparing the "amazing" efficiency of a private sector order system with the all too familiar inefficiency of the government bureaucracy when trying to do something as simple as changing an address.

It's almost as if the context of the conversation matters.

Now that I've seen it in context, I have no idea what his trip to WaWa's had to do with anything. Other than to say he had been there, which apparently in his mind gives him some sort of credibility as a regular guy.

He said the federal government is competing with other countries, then said the federal govt needs competition.

It really was a terrible 'speech.'

How about the MSM get off their sycophantic asses and report that Romney's 33 page change of address anecdote is completely full of shit (which is par for the course with that guy).

Quote:
The media story of yesterday was MSNBC's Fox-like editing of a clip to distort the meaning and emphasis of Romney's comparison between the public and the private sector. The real story was whether his claim that an optometrist had to fill out a 33 page federal government form twice to change his address was in any way true. Mediaite finds the form to be two pages long, and four if you include instructions.

Hey Andrea Bitchell. You know, they invented these fascinating things since you learned how to smear people by editing video tapes to portray the story you want. They are called smart phones, they have really good video cameras in them, and they are ubiquitous these days. I mean, virtually every big crowd of people has at least 2 dozen of them being held up to record things now.

So, who's out of touch Andrea Bitchell?

It's funny. I remember when cosmo started posting here he claimed he was some sort of middle of the roader. He's about as party-line as you can get. It's like penchief's less intelligent cousin.

I am. But to people who see everything as a socialist conspiracy, middle of the road is seen as radical left.
