Ranking Colleges by NBA Court Time

Ranking Colleges by NBA Court Time

In February, The Journal's "Basketball Alumni Loot Index," revealed that NBA players from North Carolina have earned the most since 1985.

But since that metric turned heavily on history, we wanted to know which schools' products dominate the league right now. So we ranked each college based on the number of minutes its alumni played in the NBA this regular season.

The clear winner was Duke. Its 16 NBA players combined for 21,609 minutes, led by Luol Deng's 2,129. The Blue Devils easily topped UCLA and Kentucky, the other schools with 16 NBA players. The worst school on our list? Rutgers. Its only alum in the league, Washington's Hamady N'Diaye, played three minutes last season.

Iowa has really fallen from the perch. We used to have two players who were teamates of Michael Jordan. Now we only have one player who gets off the bench in the whole league.
