We have all heard about what happened in Aurora, Co, and I think that Gun Control is going to be a huge topic in the following months.


What measures need to be taken? Do you have any ideas that will help prevent this kind of thing from happening again as it pertains to guns?

no it's not, that's my point. Guns got on planes, so we added metal detectors, they still got control of a plane with razor blades. You can not prevent every evil doer from planning to do evil deeds.

You can only plan so much. Every plan we come up with to try and prevent something an evil doer will come up with a new plan to circumvent all the policies we make. The real difference will come from the reaction to the evil deeds during a time of crisis. Where the metal meets the meat.

Take every gun away, and evil will use a knife. Take every metal knife away and they make ceramic knives, explosives out of basic supplies. If someone wants to do bad, you can't stop them. All you are going to do is take resources away from people who want to help stop evil.

Yeah, there's certainly an overabundance of airplanes owned by gang members on the south side. And they can't aim them worth a crap, either. Dude's trying to take out a car full of rival gang members, but misses and hits an apartment building full of honor students instead.

Typically violent crime rates have been tied to poverty rates, a down economy and unemployment. Well, the economy continues to wallow in the shitter, poverty and employment rates remain high yet violent crime in this country is dropping as we enjoy stronger gun rights than we've had since the Brady Bill.
The places that violent crime rates remain high are also the places with the most stringent anti-gun laws.

plus there's no breakdown of suicides, accidental deaths, deaths from handguns during the course of justifiable law enforcement actions, or self defense cases, deaths from rifles, or per capital break downs. Its just some raw numbers and a blanket political statement.

I will bet anyone of you supporting more gun legislation 100.00 right now to your chosen charity that this killer was "diagnosed" with some sort of personality disorder that put him on some sort of mood enhancers (probably something that elevates serotonin.

The issue isn't weapons or violence, it is the overmedication of this country. I bet at least 80% reading this have taken Paxil, Zoloft, or some other sort of antidepressant. I bet 100% reading this know someone who has. We are prescribed these pills by the millions each day, by greedy pharms, doctors with no ethics, and lazy parents. You can't keep screwing with someone's chemical balance of their brains and expect nothing bad to happen.

Control guns more tightly and you still have killers like the jackass in Norway killing 85 people, most of them kids. Control medications more tightly and you remove a lot of these issues immediately.

Define vacant.

A bunch of children were slaughtered with a weapon that I believe is underregulated. Let's regulate it more.

If that's vacant, it's pretty clear you accept all gun control arguments as vacant.
