We have all heard about what happened in Aurora, Co, and I think that Gun Control is going to be a huge topic in the following months.


What measures need to be taken? Do you have any ideas that will help prevent this kind of thing from happening again as it pertains to guns?

Yea but Aussie you can never predict what a madman is going to do and if someone is purely evil they will find a way to kill. He could have just as easily rented a truck and plowed thru the crowd when it was time for school to let out as easily as picked up a gun... Probably easier.

I hate the whole "gun-free zone" BS. If you're a "gun-free" area then you should be liable for and ready to protect me since you are depriving me of my ability to do so. All this does is advertise that if you want to, you have 3-4 minutes of time to do whatever it is you wish to do until help arrives. If multiple adults had CCW in that school maybe, just maybe someone could have stopped this lunatic before he killed as any as he did. Statistically it has proven out for decades that havng law-abiding citizens able to legally carry has dropped violent crime rates. That's why LA, Chicago, DC and NYC have some of the highest crime rates in the country, they are some of the most restrictive on guns and the criminals know it.
This country needs to spend its energy trying to figure out where the breakdown in mental health is in these lunatics, not further restricting the law-abiding people that aren't the problem. The kid broke 10's if not 100's of laws in doing what he did, adding 1 or 2 more isn't going to do anything except let the people who think with emotion instead of logic say "we've done something".

I think the gun culture in this country is a big problem. You can pray and hug your kids every time something like this happens, but it will do nothing to fix it. The Dunblance massacre in Scotland caused strict gun control laws across Great Britian and I hope this massacre causes the same thing on a Federal level, not state by state.

Obviously you will never stop every crazy person from causing harm, like the guy in China the other day, but imagine if he was allowed to have a gun though and the damage he would have done. The murders at the Sikh temple in Wisconsin wasn't done by a crazy person, just some stupid white trash with a gun in his hand and misplaced illogical hate. The person that fired several rounds in a mall in California yesterday is just a moron. Unfortunately all morons and stupid white trash and everyone else are allowed to have as many guns as they want, despite not needing them for any real purpose. I hope that changes with far stricter regulations.
