Gun Control

We have all heard about what happened in Aurora, Co, and I think that Gun Control is going to be a huge topic in the following months.

What measures need to be taken? Do you have any ideas that will help prevent this kind of thing from happening again as it pertains to guns?

I don't know anything about them as parents. I only know about them as gun owners. It is apparently no surprise whatsoever that this kid was emotionally unstable. If I have someone like that in my family, I am putting extra protections to make sure he can't get to my guns.

No, we don't know how well she secured her guns. But obviously, the kid found out how to get in. Maybe the kid devised some brilliant devious plan to get to them. But let's be real here. More than likely, they were not secured as well as they should have been.

I didn't say he was emotionally unstable. I said he was a loner and his parents divorced pushed him over the edge. Not everyone who is depressed will be a killer.

This is new information. It still doesn't change the fact that public school kids have loners or disturbed students. This came up in another convo with R8ers.

Quote:
At Columbine High, Harris and Klebold were active in school play productions, operated video productions and became computer assistants maintaining the school's computer server.

According to early accounts of the shooting, Harris and Klebold were very unpopular students and frequent targets of bullying at their high school.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Ha..._Dylan_Klebold
What I am now reading was that he was pulled out—indicating he had spent time in the public school system. Still, this revelation has as much relevance as the mom being a prepper. If you look at it statistically, this is extremely uncommon in that group.

Aha, this finally comes out....I was waiting for it. Even Hannity on Fox said we needed to wait to find this out:

So he was on medication for his condition per this abc video.

How far can Obama go with executive orders relative to firearms? He basically said he will do something and no way will congress move plus there are way bigger issues. So, what can he do or should we expect?

Exactly. How can you have a kid like that, stockpile multiple firearms, and 1) take this kid shooting with you; 2) not take extra precautions to make sure he doesn't get into your firearms.

We talk about parents taking responsibility for their kids. Parents who are gun owners have even greater responsibility. Yeah, maybe she was ultra careful and he Macguyver'ed his way in. I think most people find that very hard to believe.

Seriously, the GOP needs to develop some balls, to hell with the press and Obama's Alinsky tactics on them, and impeach this law breaker.

Ed Shultz has said a Glock 9mm is an assault weapon. They keep referring to the "Bushmaster" as if its really really like filled with evil cooties. Its a ****ing brand name! Its an AR variant. And not a good one. Everytime I hear a newsweenie say "clip" I want to scream.

Seriously you need to stop clogging up threads with your voodoo mental health shit and start a new thread. That said, you will see some democrats run to a dark corner on this issue if Obama runs it too hard. Reelections in two years for democrats who dont stand up on gun rights will bury them. Its a third rail issue. Obama is done running and he will divide democrats over this

What does your post have to do with what you quoted which was about gun control. None of what I posted was voodoo. It was based on facts. You just don't like it.

Uhm, others brought up mental health already. So I don't see why I can't respond to what people are saying. Even the media is gnashing teeth on it because they feel it relates to gun violence. So it's connected. Stay tuned.

You don't tell me what to say or do.
