Rumor: Bowe will stay beyond 2012.

Get your grain of salt ready.

I've been told by someone who is extremely close to Dwayne Bowe's brother that there's been a handshake deal in place since the end of last season.
This person went on to say he knew he'd be franchised this season followed by a four-year deal next year from the Chiefs.

I know nothing else, but this person seems very very confident in this information.

That's all I can tell you.

I'd also like to say that family members of players often distort/misunderstand things that aren't told directly to them.

One example is that a year or so ago, Glenn Dorseys brother was telling people that Dorsey was gonna demand to be traded after last season ended.

And yet, Glenn never missed a practice and by all reports is very happy being a part of this team.

If Pioli is just franchising him in an attempt to make him "prove himself" to earn a long term deal...him missing camp would obviously be strike one in that attempt.

Especially with a new oc coming in and Bowe being the 4th highest tenured veteran in the lockerroom.
Unless Pioli wanted Baldwin to have what has been a fantastic opportunity to get familiar with Cassel and better integrate himself in the offense.

Would you want to play football in 110 degree weather? It makes perfect since, just an excuse for him not to go.

I don't go to the ChiefsCoalition anymore, but if one of you does you can find the thread BossKiller posted about it to clarify the details.

Maybe it was a brother in law or something...

Why would Pioli offer a handshake deal with Bowe and then say "FEEL FREE TO **** UP TEAM CHEMISTRY BY MISSING CAMP?"

Gotta agree with this.

Pioli would want Bowe to set an example.... being Bowe is the 4th highest tenured Chief.

He wouldn't.

This makes zero sense for either side for several reasons.

How will this **** up team chemistry? Cassel and Bowe have an obvious chemistry. If anything, it helps team chemistry by forcing Cassel to develop chemistry with other receivers. Cassel has developed chemistry with Baldwin, proof by camp reports, and McCluster, proof from reports and preseason game one. Still nothing with Breaston it seems.

Who cares? Bowe FINALLY signed his contract and, if were lucky, Pioli will lock up Albert long term during the season. This will give us the option to use the franchise tag on Bowe again or possibly Dorsey if a contract is drawn up for Bowe before then.
