I've never heard of the Beveridge Curve before, but here:

Taylor writes that the Curve offers several insights to the current scenario:

• Job openings are increasing, but the unemployment rate is not.
• There are threey key reasons for this: "a mismatch between the skills of unemployed workers and the available jobs; incentives from extended unemployment insurance that have slowed the incentive to take available jobs; and heightened uncertainty over the future course of the economy and economic policy"
• These three factors have a historical tendency of correcting themselves over time.
• By early 2014, the curve will have righted itself, and unemployment will drop like a rock.

The confines of the system aren't changing. The fabric of the system isn't uncertain. You're being way too emotional about this.

I didn't mean to hold Ritholtz out as an economist. Sorry if I wasn't clear about that. I was using him to make a point about uncertainty.

Yes.

Also, the really isn't any economic policy uncertainty. Obamacare survived the Supreme Court. Even if Romney wins, it will be almost impossible to repeal. Obamacare is happening and people are/have been accounting for that.

I'm not being emotional.. I'm claiming that Economic Policy Uncertainty deals with .. well duh.. policy and therefore is related to the rules of the game not just the game itself. It's all well and good to practice and draw up a game plan not knowing what the Falcons are going to bring on opening day. BUT if the NFL claims there will be drastic rule changes and you'll see them in action Sept 5th... you may hold off on the final game plan until after that game. You won't FREEZE in place but you certainly may hold off.

THAT is what Economic POLICY Uncertainty does. You're gonna have a tough time defending a position against that.
