Rock Center with Brian Williams Doing a Hatchet Job on Mormonism...

How ****ing transparent can the mainstream media be? They constantly run interference for Hussein, and savage anyone who dares speak against their anointed one...

I wonder when NBC or CBS or ABC will do an expose on Reverend Wright's anti-American diatribes in prime time?

I think you may have misread his intention entirely. And now I'll bow out, because BL doesn't need my vulgar ass defending him.

I won't discount that as a possibility, but his timely disappearance from the thread has added to my skepticism.

If his intention was not to take a swipe at me, and was not to allege that I've introduced racial arguments into this thread, then we simply have to argue that he had no intentions of anything, was not responding to anybody, and was just commenting in a vacuum.

If you're reading something else into it, I'm all ears.

There are, at least, three distinct levels that you appear to wish to conflate.

Religious associations
Personal religious beliefs
Religious beliefs that demand changes in governmental policy.

Of those, only the last one should be strenuously pursued in a campaign.

Do I care if Lieberman strictly observes the Judiac Sabbath? Only if he would seek to enforce it federally.

Do I care if Brigham Young was a weirdo 150 years ago? Only if Romney wants us to pray to his visage as a nation.

Do I care if Reverend Wright thinks America should be damned for white privilege and inequality of income? Only if Obama wants to work towards righting those 'wrongs' through the Federal government.

That's arguable. Because (a.) and (b.) can easily feed into (c.). That's not even debatable.

That's fair.

But the point is -- let's ask each of those candidates if that's something they're interested in doing.

Every candidate has to answer questions about their religious faith. The fact that you think Romney should be exempted from this is really, really partisan.

But somehow Mormonism's influence on Romney isn't?
What is it about the LDS Church and it's teachings that you think might influence Romney negatively? Or is it that you just aren't really very clear about what Mormons believe and instead of just googling it or getting a book at your local library, you want to learn about it in the form of hit piece journalism targeting the GOP POTUS candidate that takes advantage of those who share your limited understanding?

The fact that most Christians don't believe it's Christianity, mainly.

That's the reason he was attacked for it in 2008 to the point where he felt the need to specifically address it.

Sounded like an impartial, objective piece of journalism, so I changed the channel and went in the bathroom and puked.
Weird because the parts I saw were about how they(the Mormons) have these big warehouses full of food and it's free to anyone in the Church and free to anyone in need (they have to meet with an elder or something first). In addition to that they have charities and money available to any member that falls on hard times.

One woman was abused by her husband and got a divorce. After the divorce she didn't have the money or wasn't able to get a job and the church stepped in and helped her out.

Then they did a part about how good Mormons generally are in business and how they foster relationships (business and personal) with other Mormons through their whole lives and when they are ready to partner up with someone they'll look to those people.

So it wasn't all negative like so many are saying. So half the show shows some of the positive they do and the other half shows some of the negative. I'd say that's impartial.

I've known plenty of LDS members. I dated a couple and they are for the most part great people. Like any group/organization/religion/whatever they all have people that aren't 'good people'.

Good Lord, are you worried that Mitt Romney is going to ban caffeine?

That discrepancy is being addressed in our church. Could I interest you in attending as my guest?

You want to ask Romney why some Christians don't believe he's a Christian? And what policy impact does the answer to that question actually have? It sounds like you're on a fishing expedition looking for the not-so-elusive innuendo fish.
