Poll: Was Clint Eastwood's Speech A Positive or Negative For Romney?

Personally, I think Clint's schtick with an empty chair was a net positive.

Until next week when George Clooney gives a more coherent speech next to an empty suit.

So lessen the quality of the convention...to get more people to tune into the convention...which has less quality...so people will tune into it.

Bold strategy Cotton. We will see how that pays off. Haha.

Perhaps, because Clint mocked the wars ever so slightly. Judging from the camera moving around the forum, not all Republicans looked pleased at that part.
These were the good parts, the part about not closing gitmo because we spent so much money on it....dumbass.

Though it sounds deliciously schedenfraude to say that, it's not true. The convention was broadcast on several networks. HBB beat one or two single networks considered individually, but was no where near the aggregate.

It seemed like a positive to me. I guess some people who can't stand the lack of slickness of an octogenarian might pan it for it's lack of fluidity, but I thought that in terms of it's content it was fantastic and in terms of it's build up toward the key speeches of the night it was very good. It also made the predictable critics look pretty shallow and mean spirited.

Late night well produced infomericals always get the gullible to buy their product. Political conventions surely get a few new converts based on the infomercial. Not everyone was watching Honey Boo Boo

I thought it was excellent. I think i have replayed it 6 or 7 times. It makes me laugh.

Plus it felt real, Clint is in his 80's you can't expect perfection and he got his point across. I loved the Biden line "intellect of the democratic party." lol

But the best one was "When somebody doesn't do the job, we gotta let them go."

The cool thing is he gets to say things that politicians can't.

I can't imagine it would sway many votes either way. Although I said at the time I thought it would just end up distracting from everything that came after it.

Although I do think anyone who was inspired by that speech probably needs to have their head examined. It was terrible.

The contrast between the Republican convention and Democrat will be like day and night IMO.

Looking forward to next Tuesday to watch the opposing team.

It was a terrible waste of 10 minutes and a distraction from the point.

If it was a speech at the MTV awards, they'd have cut his drunken, mumbling ass off 2 minutes in...
