I love how the media lets Dems get away with their view of history, while Republicans are liars.

Clinton slammed Republicans for increasing spending caused by two wars (hey lets forget we got attacked) and tax relief that Obama and the Democrats could have done away with in year one of his presidency. Then he slams them for creating a new entitlement program, the Medicare drug benefit.

Meanwhile, Obama pulls us out of Iraq, draws down troops, and adds a whopping $5 TRILLION to the debt in less than 4 years. Oh, and his new entitlement which will be larger than medicare and social security combined has not even been factored into the $16 trillion in debt we currently has.

Clinton is a great speaker, but his argument was based on partisan politics, not policy.

No matter how eloquent a speech someone gives, the Democrats still have to sell voters on the same bill of goods they were selling in 2008, which hasn't moved the needle on anything. Their platform is "more of the same".

After the vapid hopey changey stuff of this week, that's what voters will be deciding - who they trust more on the economy: the successful businessman or the smile.

Clinton has always been a polished speaker and he presented well last night.

The problem I have is that he wasn't completely honest and failed to recall some pretty serious issues. Maybe he forgot, but I didn't, that during his term, his policies led to a big market crash that GUTTED all of the investments I made my first 5 years out of college. The economy crashed hard at the end of his term.

The dems held him up as a beacon of women's rights, when all I could wonder was if the snarky young gal known of requiring $50/month condom budget in a nearly blue dress was in front of him, if he'd be trying to give her a baby to abort. While Fluke droned on angrily about treatment of women by Romney, isn't it a little ironic to tote Clinton out to applause afterwards?

Clinton can harp on military budgets and spending, but his cuts to the military are partially why it was in somewhat sorry shape when we needed it.

He spent last night licking Obama's tummy during his speech, but 4 years ago, he and his loving bride very publicly had different opinions.

I agree, he would beat both guys. I have always been interested in the history of American presidents. I've learned a lot about all of them that has fallen through the cracks over the years. I have mixed emotions about the presidential term limits. On the one hand it does push a president along before they would likely run out of gas anyway. However, once a century or so somebody comes along that is needed to push us forward, keep us from falling, heal us when we are wounded and set us free again to thrive. FDR fit this mold and I believe that Bill Clinton is such a rare politician that he fits this too. We will go on, but you have to wonder what might have been.
