What does Mitt Romney have to do with killing Osama bin Laden? According to a notable percentage of Ohio Republicans, way more than that good-for-nothing Barack Obama.
According to a PPP poll of likely Ohio voters, 15 percent of Republicans in Ohio think Romney is “more responsible” for bin Laden’s death than Obama, while 47 percent of Republicans are “not sure” whether Obama or Romney deserves more of the credit.
Six percent of the overall respondents gave Romney credit where credit is not at all due. Thirty-one percent of them weren’t sure whether the president or the candidate deserves more credit.

Well since this is an election year and, we can take and twist any fact we can find after the fact to explain what we meant to say…

Romney had more to do with the Death of Bin Laden.

In his best Winnie the pooh voice,

“Think, think, think what did I mean by that?
Ohhhhhh I remember what I meant. Romney paid far more in taxes therefore, contributed far more to pay the military expenses for the Intel, the training and the actual mission itself. “

Snopes Rating

Mostly True.

Link--there's a reason this is the term of choice when discussing this issue. I'm sure you could be "linked" to Saddam.

In this case, I'm talking about collaborative links. Here's an article in the NY Sun that describes a Pentagon report based on captured Iraqi documents that, among other things, finds that in the 1990s, Saddam worked with Ayman al-Zawahri's Egyptian Islamic Jihad group. The same group that merged with bin Laden's group and provided the majority of the cadre including the #2 man in the al Qaeda that attacked the US on 9/11.

You can see the report itself here.

BTW, the link to EIJ isn't he only connection to Islamist terror and al-Qaeda associated groups in that report. It's just the most obvious one since EIJ was as much a core component of the al Qaeda of 2001 as bin Laden's original group that migrated back to Afghanistan from Sudan.
