Romney: 47% of Americans are victims

I guess this maybe the kill shot for his campaign. I know some of you believe you this and won't find a problem with what he said but as a person running for POTUS you probably shouldn't write off 1/2 the country especially in a disparaging way.

Quote:
A hidden camera video of Mitt Romney at a fundraiser shows him talking disparagingly of people who will vote for President Obama.

Said Romney: "There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what...These are people who pay no income tax."

He adds: "My job is is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."

Regardless of what side you're on, you don't win elections by demonizing voters. That's just Politics 101.

Romney needs to be wooing the independents, and I just don't see them being impressed by this.

Is this a serious question? Is that what you read in that post? Or did you just read about some examples of people who are hooked on government benefits that help make the case that more than 47% of our population falls into that category?

Accepting that you're a looter, draining our society away with your entitlements and welfare, is the first step to changing your attitude of pure failure-dom.

Yes it is a serious question. Quoting you:

"Eliminate the home mortgage deduction or the student loan program, just to name a couple, and watch masses of people go into fits like heroin addicts who are cut off from their fix."

You are implying that people will go into fits if things like the mortgage interest deduction or student loan programs, basically saying those groups of people are "hooked" on government assistance. I then made the logic leap that you don't like those two things, given the nasty way in which you phrased it.

FYP

Eliminate corporate tax breaks, incentives, and write-offs (and all other programs that are nothing more than corporate welfare) and WATCH the country club crowd and Wall Street into fits like heroin addicts who are cut off from their fix.

You are welcome...

wanting basic human rights like healthcare, food, water, shelter is now an entitlement (yes I believe hard working people should be entitled to those 4 basic needs)? wow. Mitt Romney is the absolute worst person for this job. How about the people working their asses off for 30K-50K a year? I guess their entitled to human rights, because that's the people who I'm worried about. The people who take advantage of welfare and shit, yes **** those people. But that's just a disgusting way of putting things.

Isn't the number up to like 60million of people who need govt assisted funding?

that's sad. And most people now a days are conditioned where they don't care as long as they're taken care of.

Long gone are the days where you worked hard and got paid for your results.
