Romney: 47% of Americans are victims

I guess this maybe the kill shot for his campaign. I know some of you believe you this and won't find a problem with what he said but as a person running for POTUS you probably shouldn't write off 1/2 the country especially in a disparaging way.

A hidden camera video of Mitt Romney at a fundraiser shows him talking disparagingly of people who will vote for President Obama.

Said Romney: "There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it. That that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what...These are people who pay no income tax."

He adds: "My job is is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."

Sucks when people do that and don't look at the overall statement, or even the preceding sentence or two. It would be like the Rs literally dedicating an entire day of their national convention to Obama saying "You didn't build that."

In my opinion, the entire context of Romney's speech in that video is more damning than any one single line.

It called for improved job safety for workers, equal pay for workers regardless of sex.

Your party has gone completely around the bend these days.

And as Brock pointed out, is why the R won't win this election. They need a candidate that isn't an idiot and knows how to manipulate people, much like the way Obama did in 08. Romney clearly isn't very bright.

Yeah, he doesn't sound like Obama on healthcare AT ALL.

Are you completely unable to read between the lines? He says he's not for Socialized Medicine, then says he's for Socialized Medicine.

He tried to get socialized medicine passed in California. He was ALWAYS for it, but his party, at the time, was not.

Just like some Republicans are Pro Choice but don't make a stink about it.

Does that 47% of "non tax payers" = People who don't pay taxes out of their pay check (or don't work at all)

or does it = People who don't pay an income tax at the end of the year?
