It's never good to compare baseball and football. It never works. The Royals aren't better than the Chiefs. If you must compare the two, this years Royals are like last years Chiefs, playing their best late in the year, but it's most likely meaningless.
The biggest difference between the two sports is that it's easier to rebuild quickly in football, and it's why the Chiefs have good seasons mixed in the long stretches of sucky ones, but it's really fools gold most of the time. The Royals have been historically inept for more than 20 years, some of it out of their control, but most is all their fault. Sometimes I feel they get too much of a pass because of the small market thing, but other small market teams seem to make it work, so that can't be an excuse. The bottom line is both teams have been poorly run, the Royals have been poorly run for longer. |
