Ron White's got an IAMA on there right now, that's one of the better ones I've read. (from a celeb, anyway.)

Yeah, not all of the celeb AMAs are great, but I do like that Redditors at least ask different questions than the canned ones that they use on the press junkets. And it's a good way to promote whatever their project is, so I'm hoping more and more people will be inclined to do it.

It is kinda like a huge message board. Users create threads by posting links to other sites (news articles, wiki pages, imgur pictures, etc) and people comment on them. But there are a few things that make it unique:

(1) Rankings - Members of the community can "upvote" or "downvote" threads. That way the frontpage of the site is always the most popular content. The comments can also upvoted/downvoted, so when you open the thread the most popular/helpful comments are at the top.

(2) Subreddits - Subreddits are basically subforums that deal with one particular topic. For example, /r/nfl is a subreddit for NFL content. Pick a video game, hobby, celebrity, sports time, etc, and there's probably a subreddit for it. According to Wikipedia, there are over 67,000 subreddits to choose from.

I usually go there to check out subjects that I'm into. Another good subreddit is /r/askscience/. Post a science question and someone (usually several) will answer it. Of course, it's still the internet, so take it with all with a grain of salt, but they usually provide links to other sites to back up their explanations. Or at the very least someone else will chime in to tell them how wrong they are, then provide their own explanation. Fun stuff.
