To help out a little, here's the bio of Waterfield from the Hall of Fame site. He had two receivers that went to the Hall of Fame, Tom Fears and Elroy Hirsch. They were the Greatest Show On Turf before there was turf, averaging over 38 points per game in the 1950 season.
In the 1945 NFL Championship Game, Bob Waterfield threw 37- and 44-yard touchdown passes to lead the Cleveland Rams to a 15-14 victory over the Washington Redskins. That capped a season in which he was a unanimous All-NFL choice, and became the first rookie ever to win the league's Most Valuable Player. Early in 1946, the Rams moved to Los Angeles. As the Rams quarterback – later splitting time with Norm Van Brocklin – Waterfield took the team to three straight title games, 1949-1951. The Rams won it all in 1951 with a 24-17 win over the Cleveland Browns in the title game. As a passer, Waterfield was known for his ability to throw deep. He led the National Football League in passing in 1946 and 1951, finishing with career totals of 814 completions, 11,849 yards gained and 97 touchdown passes. He was named first- or second-team All-NFL five times. One of the game’s most versatile players, he was also an ace defensive back for his first four seasons, a top punter with a 42.4 yard average, and a deadly place kicker. In eight seasons he totaled 573 points on 13 touchdowns, 315 PATs and 60 field goals. For the next seven seasons, the Rams were pro football's most feared offensive team and Waterfield was the brilliant field general and precision passer who put points on the scoreboard. Always calm against even the greatest odds, he often led his team to come-from-behind victories. In one 1948 game, the Rams fell behind eventual league champion Philadelphia 28-0. Waterfield rallied his team to a tie on four late touchdown passes. Waterfield proved to be a determined competitor in the pros. In the 1950 divisional playoff, although he was unable to practice all week because of the flu, he came off the bench and threw three touchdown passes in a 24-14 win over the Chicago Bears.

Bradshaw and Moon close one. But Bradshaw has a ton of rings.

Game 1: I despised Pittsburgh during the 70s so I wasn't a Bradshaw fan at all then. I like him as a commentator now though. I'm probably underrating Bradshaw because of my anti-Steeler bias, but I voted Warren Moon.
Game 2: I loved Steve Young. A friend of mine who knew him through Brigham Young told a story about how Young went to a party at Joe Montana's house when they were both with the 49ers and one of Joe's young kids said something to the effect of "Oh, you're the guy my dad doesn't like". LOL. Game 3: Bob Waterfield sounds like a stud. Unfortunately, I didn't read the bio until after I voted for Jake Plummer. I like his gunslinger style and his confidence even if he was mistake prone. Game 4: I'm starting to realize that I've always liked mobile QBs. I voted for Fran Tarkenton. Game 5: Peyton Manning might not be as mobile as Joe Namath once was, but I'd rather have him running my team. Game 6: I'm not a big Dan Marino fan, but he's better than Jim Hart was. I liked Hart better, but sometimes I can set aside my biases. Game 7: This is another one that's not much of a contest, IMO. I'll go Drew Brees. Game 8: When I was a wee lad in the 60s, I had a football outfit (helmet, pads, shirt) that was close in design to the Rams uniform. At the time, I thought I was a Rams fan and Roman Gabriel was the guy I imagined being when I got dressed up and ran around the house. But Joe Montana is the better QB.

Easy round to vote except Bradshaw -- Moon.
Put Bradshaw on those Houston teams and he's not in the conversation. Put Moon on those Steeler teams and they still win 4 rings. I went Moon. |

Game 1: This is a tough one, but I went with Moon. I hope it's a little salve for that whole, "undrafted because you were black" thing. I think Moon doesn't get the credit he deserves for playing his peak years in the Yukon.
Game 2: Young is an easy choice over Brunell. Brunell was good, but Young at his peak was nearly unbeatable. Game 3: Waterfield wins it for me even though I never saw him play. Or perhaps because I saw Jake Plummer play. Game 4: Tarkenton is an easy win over Ferguson, though Ferguson was a fine quarterback. Game 5: Manning has a reputation for choking big games, and Namath has a reputation for winning big games. However, I can't vote against Manning, unfortunately, despite his recent record of cheating. Game 6: Jim Hart ran the Cardiac Cards, but c'mon. Dan Marino. You can't vote against Dan Marino. Game 7: Brees over Everett. Do I need to say more? Game 8: Roman Gabriel was the first "glamour quarterback" that I remember. He had a great name and he was the Rams' quarterback throwing the Jack Snow, who also had a great name. He made some appearances on TV shows, and seemed to have the whole act. And he has no prayer against Joe Montana.

Moon is the easy answer here, IMO.

Moon was badass, but c'mon. A QB with 4 rings vs a QB with 0 rings.

Compare the number of Hall of Famers each QB had as team mates. Bradshaw didn't win those rings by himself. Bradshaw's career completion rate is below Cassel's. Different eras, but other than a season or two, I was never that impressed by Bradshaw.

Warren Moon will just have to wait until Rain Man does his poll of great CFL QBs. I'm sure he'll dominate then.

There needs to be a Cassel/Elway game since there have been some who have drawn similarities between the 2.
