Winston mad at the Fans

Arrowhead Pride ‏@ArrowheadPride

Eric Winston was very angry at the cheering when Cassel got hurt. Held court w/ the media for a few min about that in the Chiefs locker room

Thank goodness.

All these dipsticks need to do is check the tape. They'll see that the majority of the crowd was cheering Jamaal and the 16-yard first down. Nobody at that point was looking at Cassel.

And, of course they cheered him when he got up and walked off the field ... for a variety of reasons.

Jesus...This is insane. Getting horrible national recognition because of Winston. Thanks alot ****er. How or why can't people grasp the fact that the fans were cheering because they wanted a change at QB not because Cassel was actually injured???

I didn't even know Cassel was hurt until way after the play, and the hit didn't even look that bad honestly. Everyone was cheering because Charles got a first down, then they see Quinn start to come in the game. I just don't get it. All the national writers are applauding Winston without even knowing what really happened and now ESPN's making us out to be horrible people.

Way to take the attention off the epic failures of Pioli, Cassel & Crennel...

40 years without a SB, 30 years without drafting a 1st round QB, 20 years without a playoff win, 4 years of Matt Cassel and we're the bad guys now...Great.

One of the "Smack Back" comments on KSHB just urged Winston to help Scott Pioli clean out his desk and leave town.

The scenarios, results, and stories that happen with this team and fan base are nothing short of amazing. There really aren't any words for it.

The fan base, usually a loyal bunch(to a fault), finally have the angry diehards get the base pissed off enough to lash out. We do so, but in doing so, get labeled because of how some handled the Cassel injury. The idea that after all our effort we finally may see a tiny piece of hope masked by Winston's comments is unreal. I can't tell if Pioli had a great break tonight in Winston's comments or if this is a case of any press is good press.

I just had a thought ...

In a way, Winston isn't doing Cassel any favors ... given the media spin on this deal ...

I mean, now that the national media is hugging on this story, it simply magnifies and underscores the idea that Cassel sucks so bad his own fans wish him dead.

That's one hell of a backlash, right there.

In the end it may help us. I am willing to have people think less of the fan base in exchange for more media coverage on our hate for him. In the end, the "classless" fan base image fades unless you do it over and over and over again. Hell, even Philly gets love from the media for their love of sports. They even get the "intelligent sports fans" label.

There's plenty of idiots in any fanbase, but I was hoping there was a little bit less in ours. I was wrong. Being happy that any human being has been hurt is disgusting. The people in Arrowhead that were cheering when Cassel got hurt, made me ashamed to be on the side of the #BenchCassel movement.

I still feel the same, but it should have never been this way.

Possibly. You wouldn't know it by reading Twitter. We are getting flat killed. I could literally pick from hundreds of tweets making fun of Chiefs fans. And that's just within the last hour or so. I don't think the fans are winning the PR battle here.
