***OFFICIAL VP DEBATE THREAD***

A little early but I was just sitting in the park this afternoon when a small group of runner's came by me and it was Ryan running along the waters edge. They were running a pretty damn good clip. A quick pace for a jog that's for sure.

WTF is he doing his debate prep in St. Pete?

On Saturday night Romney held a big rally about 1/2 mile from my house and right across from where Ryan was running.

I actually am criticizing the format, Martha was stuck with it and I don't blame her.

Lehrer knew EXACTLY what he was doing and he (and I) don't care what anyone else thinks about his performance. It was EXACTLY what he wanted and the first debate went perfectly because of it. FAR more substance was put out in an INTELLIGIBLE manner to the average voter.. this debate was tailor made to US and the media.

This bothered me a little. It is almost as if he was told to tone it down and let Biden show his true colors and blow the debate.

Personally I prefer the Lerher style. Why? Because it gives you a chance to see people of their own accord, how do they conduct themselves on the fly, etc.

whent hings are very, very structured it's easy to follow suit but when you have to start improvising and winging it a bit you see what a person is made of.

Clearly last debate Obama just sucked, this debate I felt that the moderator was far better, interrupting both sides, not just Ryan.

I think Biden shored up a crumbling campaign with this debate. I felt Ryan was far too rehearsed to what he was going to say but not real clear on specifics of his party plat form.
Even with the 47 come back, it was clever but man you can tell they had been sitting on that for a long time. I dont know, it was entertaining but I dont think either side won tonight. They were clearly speaking to different people tonight. Honestly I wish there was a legitimate third choice.
I'm going to vote for Romney.

If you were to read a transcript, I could see it being a draw or a very slight lean either way. Ryan had the best line of the night with his poke at Biden, but both of them traded blows evenly all night.

The only time I felt like one guy was on a roll was the last question prior to the closing statement (that both men used as a closing statement), and Ryan was doing work.

That said, the story of this debate will be Biden's demeanor.

Also it sounds like Biden really screwed the pooch on Benghazi by contradicting what people have been told up until now.

Biden is a petulant child.

Ryan probably won a split decision but it was more disappointing than I expected.

If this debate swayed your vote either way, you're a tongue chewer.

I hate the Lerher style, it's a softball, question/answer format that allows politicians to dodge the issues and avoid/spin the questions, that style is not a true debate.

Tonight was definitely a debate.

I disagree. By all accounts, Biden is a VERY nice guy in real life. He came across as a prick tonight, though.

Looks like Biden's tone is becoming the main topic on every network except the loonies at MSNBC.
