The Opposite of a Direckshun Thread

Consider this chart from powerlineblog.com. The left bar is what has been described by Obama's supporters as a "huge recovery". They generally don't talk about the right bar.

(Brevity brought to you by the Stop Direckshun Before He Uses Up All The Internet's Ink Committee).

You're comfortable with a partisan source.

That's all you got.

You made the claim that since 2009, for every 1 person added to payrolls, 10 have been added to the total of people off payrolls.

You have no evidence for it except for what a politician has said.

You do not have anything that's not directly funded by a political party to support that.

Until you can provide actual evidence, all you've done is make a claim.

Let's try another angle: how did he go about making the chart?

Please detail what went into factoring in the numbers for each column.

It's addressed on the chart itself. The source of the data is the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Obama's Bureau of Labor Statistics, as a matter of fact. This is no more a mere claim than a factcheck.org article that sites BLS numbers. Here's the link. Knock yourself out.

So just to be sure:

You're citing a politican as factual support, and you can't explain how he arrived at his figures.

Sounds exactly like the opposite of a Direckshun thread.

For the record, being unable to explain exactly how a chart is constructed isn't a crime against humanity or anything.

But if the only source you have is a politician, it'd sure help to actually provide something other than "a Republican said so."

What are you talking about? The chart explains how his staff arrived at the numbers. You're flailing.

Come on Direckshun. Surely you can name ONE Republican that you've voted for IN YOUR ENTIRE LIFE, can't you?

I'm not asking you to prove it. I'll take you at your word. Just name one.

If you can't, that is prima facie evidence of your being a partisan shill, a partisan hack, or whatever you want to call it. Only an ignorant partisan hack ALWAYS votes a straight ticket in every election, and that goes for both Democrats and Republicans.

I don't he can, and he is trying to avoid the partisan shill label by ignoring the question.

Perhaps Direckshun is just too nuanced to realize that everyone thinks he is a partisan Democratic shill already, and his performance is this thread is proof of it.

Nope.

The chart says these were "calculations" "from" the BLS.

That tells us nothing. Hell, I could do "calculations" "from" the BLS by simply picking a few random numbers from it and adding them together. The result wouldn't make any sense, but hey, I did calculations based off the BLS.

In other words, you've presented a chart from partisan source that is literally paid to spin information in their favor, while offering no transparency at how they constructed that chart.

All things being equal, that doesn't sound like a recipe for reliable information, now does it?

The thing is, I don't take mnchiefsguy at his word. I'm sure he's a nice guy and everything, but I feel like he's making shit up about his voting record.

Of course, how I feel means nothing. I can't prove shit, and neither can he. We might as well be typing about our dick sizes.

So, I don't give a shit. Instead, I'm far more interested in what I can prove, which is: my behavior on this forum betrays that of a mere partisan shill, whereas mnchiefsguy's is the very definition of it.

If you want to go rounds on that, I'm game, since it will actually go somewhere remotely productive.

There you go again, failing to answer a direct question. Instead you try to deflect the issue and call someone else a liar, when you do not even have the courage to answer the question.

You are a partisan shill, and when you deny you lie and you frankly look bad doing it. This has nothing to do with my voting record. I have admitted that in this particular election, I heavily favor the Republicans. I will be voting for Republican for sure in all but two races:

The Missouri Governor (Nixon has done well, and the fact that he stood up against ObamaCare wins some points from me)

The Missouri Senate Race (still undecided on whether to vote for Akin or the Libertarian candidate)

So I have admitted my bias, in this election cycle.

I find it amazing that since I am heavy Republican this go around, I must naturally have been that way all my voting life. (I mean, no one ever changes their political viewpoints over the course of their life do they?) I now understand where you get that perception Direckshun...it is because you have been nothing but a Democratic shill your entire voting life, and you lack the balls to admit it. Keep lying about it, stay in denial. I don't care. But every time you call someone else out for being partisan, or call them a liar...I am going to be there to throw this back in your face.

Keep up the great work Hypocritshun, and have a nice day!

You've said all this, man.

You need to open a new door. You've made all these points like eight times.

Every time you call me a liar, I will get out the hammer of your own dishonesty and hypocrisy and smote you with it. I cannot let anyone who calls me dishonest have the last word...ever.

By the way, you keep making your points over and over again too.

Again, you're welcome to provide a counter argument (bu we both know you can't). Instead, you attack the conduit through which the BLS data has been provided. I'd be doing the same thing if I rejected every post you made just because you made it no matter what sources you cited.
