Was it just me, or did Mitt Romney say something brilliant and prescient?

****ing applause for the man. Easily his wisest line of the entire election season.

Not even kidding.

Mitt Romney, talking about the war on terror, just rejected every ounce of neoconservativism, drone-reliant warfare of civilian casualties to kill battle-aged men in countries full of brown people.

This is something foreign policy doves have been saying since the turn of the millenia. To defeat terrorism, it is not enough to simply murder a requisite number of bad guys.

You've got to exercise a foreign policy that doesn't unnecessarily incite hatred in foreign countries, and turn down the heat on all the rhetoric and much of the unnecessary, counterproductive behavior that feeds recruitment for these foreign countries.

I think this was the best line of the debate. Bar none. And it's something that's been long overdue out of the mouth of a national-level Republican.

I think Obama won the debate and all that jazz, but credit where it's due. Romney found a winner of a line and an idea. I hope it finds a way to spread.

I wasn't sure what to believe four years ago but today I believe what I posted. Obama is going to weaken our country all the way around, militarily, politically and financially.

You can't come out and agree that the Hamas Charter is awful, and the basis for a large percent of the problems in the middle east currently....so instead you whinge and cry and simply wriggle out of having to take any stand whatsoever..instead of simply stating that you agree with the Hamas charter and hope for the destruction of Israel.

How can any reasonable person reading the things you write come to any other conclusion? Not once have you denounced the charter or even said "hey you know what, article 13 is pretty god damn scary" or anything like that...

Well , insane is correct...but to describe Martyr Operations and random rocket attacks against civilians as 'cynical politics' (you added the insane only just now) is also insane, IMO.

To not step up and call it out for what it is , is the height of hypocrisy.

Sending rockets and suicide attacks is not 'cynical politics' just as murdering innocent Palestinians isn't self defense.

The sooner both sides be more honest the sooner we can have peace.....

The biggest obstacle is the Hamas Charter..(IMO) you can minimize this by saying its just cynical politics, but it really HAS to go. There is no way for Israel to negotiate any kind of real, lasting peace with this charter in existence.....

If the Palestinian people CHOOSE to have Hamas as their leaders, then they will be choosing this charter. The charter can NOT lead to peace, only can it lead to war. Cynical politics or "War HAwks" or whatever you wish to call it....it will lead to more war only.

The way out is for them to send Hamas Packing or for Hamas to re-do the charter.
