I would disagree with that. I don't think anything is incureable. However I will say this. If anything has been proven to me in the last couple of election cycles it is the need for another opinion. The 2 sides are completely divided and little hope is in sight for fixing that. There needs to be a 3rd party, but let's face it, with the current election rules that is improbable. I think all would see more compromise and harmony if we forewent private election financing, gave 3 candidates an equal share of public financing, had one debate featuring all three and went from there.

I said seemingly because we just don't seem to get it, the candidates up there should scoffed at best case scenario. It's like we had this hang nail and the solution was a 50 pound mallet to the toes/fingers. Not only is it a bad idea to swing the Mallet thinking it's any kind of solution but we're just blindly flailing while the blood flies everywhere.

I just want to see a real debate with a simple preset foremat and the media left out of the equasion entirely.

I am all for other parties and equal time as at the very least it dilutes special interest influence.

Unfortunately I think it's going to get worse before it gets better. You have too many extreme views pulling one way or the other with no intention of meeting a gray area.

I started to say that you know I don't think it would do anything to have a 3rd party candidate present but I think it would. I don't think you'd have the back and forth banter between the two.

I also agree that the media should be left out of the debates. I think one big old debate full of questions sent in from voters. The only purpose from a moderator should be to keep time and ask questions. If a candidate goes over their alloted time, their mic gets shut off.
