he has the highest ceiling out of all the guys in the trade

Darryl Morey went from teetering on the edge of being let go to popping the champagne every night. Harden deal is a huge winner, Lin has actually been pretty good, Asik has been just what they'd hoped, and they'll have enough $ to sign someone to a max deal in the off-season if the possibility arises. In addition, they have some other nice young players to develop in Parsons, TRob, Terrence Jones, etc.

It's a surprise because it's so soon after they drafted him. But I'm not really a believer in TRob either on that level (and I'm a KU fan). I see him as more of a bench guy in the NBA with a rebounding niche. The offensive game just isn't there yet. It may never be, but Houston has the time to wait.

Holy shit, I just saw Harden's line. If the guy is singlehandedly beating teams like the Thunder, I've gotta put him in my top 10 in the league for sure.

Harden is fantastic, but the rest of the team is hot and cold. In 2 years they are paying Lin, Harden and Asik 14 million a piece. I don't know believe they will add another max guy without dealing one, and good luck dumping Lin. They hit 15 3's tonight and won by 3. They are a very streaky team which is why they are sitting at the 8 seed. They were an eight seed at this time last year so why they look very different the results aren't so different YET.

Yeah, I'm not sure I like their chances to make in-roads among the top teams in the West right now. The talent isn't there unless it develops (and I'm not a big fan of Lin at all, he's been overrated since the Linsanity thing). Really, it's amazing that Harden even has them at 8 right now.

I agree. He's doing a great job carrying that team on his back.

I don't really know how much the trade helps Houston either. I liked what I saw from Patterson and Morris this year. I'm also puzzled why you would pick T-Rob at 5, and trade him so fast. That's the Kings I guess.

One trade rumor floating around here is Perkins, Lamb and a pick to Pheonix for Gortat and PJ Tucker. Doubt it happens since I have yet to see a rumored Thunder deal go through.
