I see your point and agree. Since "visually spectacular" is now common place, I think that the story, script and acting will need to be first class in order for these films to be hailed. I'm sure they'll make plenty of money regardless.

I don't think they need to be first class. They just need to be fresh stories that aren't completely ****ed up in their execution.

We're not looking for No Country For Old Men, here. Just Harry Potter.

Abrams is also reportedly searching for a "20-something female actress" to potentially play Obi Wan Kenobi's granddaughter.

Having said that, previous casting rumors we've heard still seem to be legit. Jesse Plemons ('Meth Damon' from Breaking Bad), Adam Driver, Michael Fassbender and Hugo Weaving are all reportedly up for leading roles, while Abrams is also reportedly searching for a "20-something female actress" to potentially play Obi Wan Kenobi's granddaughter.
Fassbender AND Weaving? Interesting

Nice find.

Is that goateed Luke Skywalker?

Oh, no, he went Dark Side (Luke with goatee=Dark Side, as anyone who mucked through Legacy of the Force might remember slapping his forehead about).

There's an interesting article about LucasArts in the latest Game Informer.

The stuff about George Lucas in particular is just jaw-dropping.

The guy single-handedly ruined several would-be awesome video games before they ever saw the light of day.

At one point, he suggested that the main protagonist in a new Force Unleashed project should be named Darth Icky or Darth Insanious.
