Andrew Sullivan - Whackjob

Split Decision

Daily Beast Columnist Andrew Sullivan compared Governor Romney's supporters to the American South on ABC's “This Week“

Quote -- "If Virginia and Florida go back to the Republicans, it's the Confederacy, entirely. You put the map of the Civil War over this electoral map, you've got the Civil War."

Washington Post columnist George Will didn't let that comment sit -- quote -- "Two possible explanations. A lot of white people who voted for Obama in 2008 watched him govern for four years and said, 'Not so good. Let's try someone else.' The alternative, the Confederacy hypothesis, is those people somehow for some reason in the last four years became racist."

Why is Sullivan a partisan hack? His views don't sit squarely on either side of the aisle.

That was my first reaction too, but I guess it would be fair to say that he's in the tank for Obama.

Might not be a bad idea to actually read what Sullivan wrote, instead of having Fox News chew your food for you.

Ladies and gentlemen - your Democratic Narrative if Obama loses this thing.

"Bunch of racist confederates put the old white guy in office because they couldn't handle a black President..."

Oh well, at least it's so predictable as to be sad.

Wait.

The fact that the Bible belt tends to vote with the party that loudly espouses Chrisitan values (at great expense to its voting base in the Northeast, West Coast and Northern states), isn't because of bigotry?

Those stats were voting against Democrats when they were white as well. But leave it up to the race-baiting O-bots to scream foul.

They're spinning the machine up and the results aren't even in yet.

I don't think you're really conceiving the point that Sullivan and others are making.

But okay. Dems are painting Romney voters as big, bad racists.

Sooooo simple.

Yeah, he's not trying to paint them as racists at all. I don't know where anyone would get that idea.
