One of the most important aspects of the Affordable Care Act is for buying insurance to be much, much easier. State-run exchanges make that much easier.

E would ban a state-run exchange from ever being created in Missouri.

This would likely run counter to federal law, and end up in the federal court system, though I'm not sure how the courts would come down since they said that states don't have to have the Medicaid expansion dumped on them against their will -- so the courts could conceivably rule in favor of Missouri here, though I doubt it.

I agree with the "No" for Amendment 3. Missouri's method of choosing judges is respected nationwide, and other states have followed suit. No reason to change it now.

I am leaning towards a yes on Prop A...local cities should have control of their own police departments.

No on Prop B...it is just another tax, and I doubt that the money would ever wind up in our schools, just like the lottery money...how much of that goes to schools?

Yes on Prop E...anything that stalls Obamacare is a good thing.

The thing I don't like about having propositions or amendments on this ballot is that every Joe Schmo that is registered to vote will go to vote for the presidential, congressional , or state official elections, but will be totally clueless as to what the propositions or amendments are even about and make uninformed decisions.

So what is the argument against Prop A? I found this site that has an argument against it, which basically boils down to the GOP not wanting to give the Dems (who currently run the city) control over the police dept.

I'm not a Dem, but I am in favor of giving local municipalities control of their own police forces. Then, if the people of St Louis decide they're not doing a good job, they can vote them out of office.

Even if other states hadn't followed suit, I would rather not have a judge start making judgments based upon what he think the popular opinion would be in order to get re-elected.

I agree. The current system works and works well. I see no reason to change what is working.
