No, it doesn't need opposite parties. It needs people with better ideas about how to run government. Makes no difference whether there's a D or an R by their name.

Just because the guy you're running against is for gay marriage is no reason at all for you to be against it. The way it's set up right now, you're supposed to be, though.

It'll be awhile before we see that. Hope not, but the political power that is Monsanto wouldn't surprise me.

You live in Missouri, right?

Let's just say that it's different in the population centers than it is in the Midwest and the Red States.

It's almost like two completely different countries.

That's fair. We don't agree on the relative degree of "suck" but we at least agree that the last 2 Republican tickets have sucked, right?

I wouldn't agree with that, but I'm not passionate about my disagreement. there are issues that they're closer than republicans, but there are issues where republicans are closer. it's about 50/50 to me.

I realize I voted for the smaller pile of shit.

Could have been a much larger pile.

I'd rather step in it, than swim in it.

Even though I voted for Bush in 2000, I did it because I didn't trust Gore, not because I liked GW.

I haven't really like an R since Dole. It's too bad he didn't show his personality until after the election, although he would have probably lost anyway.

pretty much, to a certain extent. the thing is, when a president/political party only has to show up and pander to a certain base, you can't tell me that they have my best interests in mind when I'm not in their population base.

government FOR the people BY the people. that is, unless you're not important for my election. then, **** you.
