*****OFFICIAL 2012 U.S. GENERAL ELECTION RESULTS*****

Obama re-elected with Ohio win...

Dems maintain control of Senate, GOP maintains control of House.

Half the vote in from Ohio...Obama still leads, Romney closing slowly. Might be too far, though...

And of course meaningless if Florida goes to the President.

Brit Hume bringing up some good points on Fox about how most of the country is center/right, and that the Republicans are too far to the right. Cited some polling that said that 24% liberal, 35% conservative, but 40% of Americans are moderates.

I think the Republicans may have to sacrifice some of their conservative base, and get more moderates on board to survive. I view myself as a moderate, especially on social issues. My votes the last few elections have been based on economics.

I think it is safe to say that while people polled have constantly said that the economy as the #1 issue...the clear voting pattern of moderates is that they do not like social conservatism.

The Republican party needs to go back to the drawing board on many of these issues.

For what it is worth, I think the Democrats have gone too liberal on many issues, but they have managed to better appeal to the moderate vote.

Neither party particular cares about the moderate vote until election day rolls around. In recent years, the Democrats have been superior in swaying the moderate vote to their side.

Florida is checkmate. But Obama needs to win by more than 29 EC votes so we dont need a recount in Florida.

I don't enjoy seeing Obama win, really (I voted 3rd party). I do, however, enjoy seeing the Planet know-it-alls being served up a good dose of Shut the **** Up.

I, by no means, am implying that you couldn't afford it, I'm just saying a lot of people couldn't.
It's outrageously expensive for what you get (except for the fact that it's often the only high speed choice). I'm much happier paying half the price for equal speeds and better latency now.
