The "I Voted" thread

Election day is 12 minutes away on the East Coast. This is the thread to post in once you've voted. For those of you who do vote - congratulations. You now have earned the right to complain about everything for the next four years.

Personally, I Early-Voted last Friday night. Early voting was supposed to end on Wednesday (I think), but because the storm closed it down for two days, the Gov extended it until Friday night. I drove my Dad (age: 79) out to a local community college, and we both went in to stand in the pretty impressively long line.

Dad has trouble standing, so he sat in a chair they had set out; someone apparently came and ushered right up front. I didn't see this, of course, because I was at the tail end of the line; it ended up taking me about an hour fifteen to move through. The election volunteers couldn't have been more efficient. Voting itself took about five minutes.

So go out and vote. Those of you in swing states may end up standing there for hours and hours, but it's important, and worth it. You could very well end up being the deciding vote. Then come in here and post about it.

Who did I vote for? R&R! Why?
I will vote for the most pro-life candidate, because God hates the shedding of innocent blood (Proverbs 6:16,17).
I will vote for the most pro-Israel candidate, because God blesses those who bless Israel and curses those who don't (Genesis 12:3).
I will vote for the most pro-debt reduction candidate, because the borrower is servant to the lender (Proverbs 22:7).
I will vote for the most pro-work candidate because God says if a man does not work, let him not eat (2 Thessalonians 3:10).
I will vote for the most pro-marriage candidate, because God is for marriage as defined in Genesis 2:24.
I will vote for the candidate who most closely believes government's purpose is to reward the good and punish the evil (Romans 13).
I will vote based as close as I can on God's Word (2 Timothy 3:16), knowing that whoever gets elected, wisdom and power are God's, He sets up kings and deposes them; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. He reveals deep and hidden things; He knows what lies in darkness and light dwells with Him. (Daniel. 2:21)

I just voted. This is the second time I've waited until mid-day during a Presidential election because getting there when the polls open is a waste of standing in line. I was in and out in about five minutes.

Because the libertarian party best represents my political beliefs. I hate the monetary policies of the D's and I hate the social polices of the R's. They both have a decent points. The libertarian party isn't perfect but I agree with close to 80% of the libertarian ideals compared to maybe 20-25% of the R's and D's. I don't understand why you believe Romney will be that different.

I walked up, gave them my voter registration card, they typed in my number, I signed the iPad thingy, and they gave me a ballot. I guess it might take a few seconds longer if they have to look you up by name instead of voter id number. I sat down, filled in the proper arrows, put my ballot in the machine, and took a sticker. Machine told me I was #235.
iPad thingy? You mean one of the geezers with horrible eyesight doesn't take you ID card, and look you up in a bound paper booklet, and manually stamp "voted" on your line? Then hand off your ID card to the next geezer, who hand writes your name and number on a log sheet that you have to sign?

iPad thingy. Pssshaw.

How about Luke 6:45(Out of the overflow of the mouth, the heart speaks)--"Voting is the best revenge"

"You didn't build that".

We know who this guy is, that is if you have ears to hear.

If that's not voter harassment, I don't know what is. You should be locked up.

Actually, it was more like, "just because the media tells you there are only two candidates... those are the ones they WANT you to vote for... not necessarily the best candidate... It's okay to think for yourself, honey."

I fail to see how voting for Johnson in a state that is clearly going to vote for Romney is any more wasteful than voting for the other two guys.
