CIA Director David Petraeus stepping down...
...supposedly due to extramarital affair.

3:02PM EST November 9. 2012 - NBC reported Friday that CIA director David Petraeus has resigned from the CIA, citing an extramarital affair.

NBC's Andrea Mitchell said the resignation was submitted in a letter dated Friday and was accepted by the White House.

In a letter, Petraeus noted that he had been married for 37 years and had exercised "extremely poor judgment' in conducting an extramarital affair.

Petraues took over as head of the CIA in September of 2011 following his tour as head of allied forces in Afghanistan.

Here's what I've heard down here in Tampa.
  1. The Kelley's head the Wonded Warrior foundation here in Tampa. They are friends with Petreaus. Jill Kelly was getting threatning letters from Broadwell. Everyone is assuming Jill was threatning to tell Petreaus's wife.
  2. Jill went to the FBI.
  3. While the FBI was investigating broadwell's emails, they found the emails suggesting an affair with Petreaus.
  4. They went to him and he denied it.
  5. They went to Eric cantor and told him. Why they went to him? WTF knows.
  6. The FBI got evidence in Broadwell's email that she had been given the password to Gen. Petreaus personal gmail account.
  7. Nothing security ir job related was ever sent or recieved from that gmail account but it called into question security, not just a private affair. They told the CIA.
