Chiefs' Player Jevon Belcher involved in murder-suicide, shoots self at Arrowhead

edit: Sources say the player is Jovan Belcher. Police have yet to confirm.

An unnamed Kansas City Chiefs player has committed suicide at the team facility and authorities are on the scene, the police confirmed to ESPN on Saturday morning.

Local reports say police are operating with the belief the player fatally shot his girlfriend at a house before driving to Arrowhead Stadium and killing himself at around 8 a.m local time. The Associated Press reported the player's age to be 25.

"We can confirm that there was an incident at Arrowhead earlier this morning," the Chiefs said in a statement. "We are cooperating with authorities in their investigation."

There were no other injuries at the team facility, police said.

The Chiefs (1-10) were preparing to host the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

The NFL has told the Panthers to travel as planned to Kansas City on Saturday, the Charlotte Observer has reported, citing interim general manager Brandon Beane.

All I said was I wasn't going to pass judgment when I have no idea what triggered this incident.

I have also stated I would expect if he had not killed himself he should spend the rest of his life in jail. I am not an empathizer just find the vitriol fairly over the top.

Since this incident it has become apparent CP is chock full of perfect people living perfect lives. It's truly amazing.

In spite of what your sky-fairy preacher may tell you, reasonable people that conform to a moral code not derived from a book of ludicrous bullshit written by desert dwellers some thousands of years ago are actually quite capable of judging the acts of others despite the fact that they are not themselves "perfect".

The guy killed his kid's mother because, I don't know, she cam home late or something. Everything that has to come to light since has been undeniably negative, and the fact that the rest of us are not perfect in every ****ing way does not prevent us from concluding that the guy was a c**t of the highest order.
