Chiefs' Player Jevon Belcher involved in murder-suicide, shoots self at Arrowhead

edit: Sources say the player is Jovan Belcher. Police have yet to confirm.

An unnamed Kansas City Chiefs player has committed suicide at the team facility and authorities are on the scene, the police confirmed to ESPN on Saturday morning.

Local reports say police are operating with the belief the player fatally shot his girlfriend at a house before driving to Arrowhead Stadium and killing himself at around 8 a.m local time. The Associated Press reported the player's age to be 25.

"We can confirm that there was an incident at Arrowhead earlier this morning," the Chiefs said in a statement. "We are cooperating with authorities in their investigation."

There were no other injuries at the team facility, police said.

The Chiefs (1-10) were preparing to host the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

The NFL has told the Panthers to travel as planned to Kansas City on Saturday, the Charlotte Observer has reported, citing interim general manager Brandon Beane.

Yeah, you're wrong. I am not remotely positive over there. I've spent tons of posts coming down on ***** and Cassel.

You're basically basing all of this on a couple of "Baldwin is open" GIFs I posted.

In the SAME THREAD I told everyone there it didn't mean Baldwin was any good.

No I'm basically basing it off of what I have seen there myself, although admittedly I haven't been there probably since before SOC started so I would bet you have changed since then. Would be tough to be the guy you were after you were with them

Hey, look how positive I am about Cassel on Arrowhead Pride!

Now I want to talk about what Cassel did "well" on Friday night.

There has been a huge discussion about our touchdown drive and all the short passes Cassel threw. In my opinion, what we did on that drive and what we did all night in the short passing game is going to kill our offense this season if we keep it up.

In the GIF below (linked because this post is getting a bit huge), I've screen capped 24 throws Cassel made against the Seahawks.

To sum it up: if 70 percent of our passing game is a pass that averages a distance of 3.2 yards from the line of scrimmage, we have a problem.

When we're chucking the ball around like that, it should be no surprise to us that:

1) Screens are horribly ineffective (as they were Friday night).

2) Two of our wide receivers average less than 10 yards per catch.

3) Dexter McCluster gets mugged. (click for GIF)

4) Cassel throws a pick six because defenders are camping short routes.

If what we saw Friday night is our real offense, I'm horribly disgusted.
