Any of you guys worried this year marks the beginning of another seriously dry spell for Chiefs football? I can easily see them blowing for another decade based on this horrific tenure by *****. Am I just paranoid or is this a legitimate fear? I don't want to become a casual fan who watches 3 games a year.

Anybody have any reason for optimism in 2013 and 2014? I know high first round draft picks are reason for optimism but the bust rate for quarterbacks is higher than defensive linemen and we all know how we've fared selecting early defensive linemen.

If there is a telling sign that Clark is in over his head its those comments by Kevin Ross that ***** intentionally put a halt to player charities and general player involvement in community efforts. Clark would have to have known about such a thing, and would have to have given the OK on it (even an implicit OK).

It's a sign that Clark doesn't understand (never understood?) what makes a professional sports team a success in a market like Kansas City.

You could simply say Hunt has made one mistake, or you could see that he's clearly disengaged and let that one mistake become what we see today. The neat thing about Cricket is the pitching or the bowling. You can fling the ball overhand or underhand, bounce off the dirt, whack the hitter guy, or even do a fake. Plus, there's outfielders all over the damn place and everybody gets a turn to defend the wicket.

He's not the 1st owner to fail at selecting a GM.

Matter of fact, most if not all have either said or implied that if he retains *****, or ****s up the next hire, your points gain some weight.

Where does the absentee owner that doesn't quite have a good pulse on the day to day of his own org and the fans stop and the guy who just makes the wrong decisions start?

Well, that's the minimum and it's more financial than anything.... there are freakin' planes flying over Arrowhead, fans wearing black to games, etc. Taking care of the problem by firing ***** at the end of the season doesn't necessarily have anything to do with a culture change beyond not being one of the worst franchises in professional football.

Like Reaper said, he's made decisions that force you to question whether he really knows what it takes to be successful. If he hires another GM and lets him make such horrible mistakes for 3 more years, the Chiefs won't be any better off. Someone at the top should be there to prevent some of those things from ever happening in the first place.

I'm scared of the future but that more has to do with the unknown with ***** still here. As long as ***** is running this sh*t show we are going to be destined to the cellar. Not only do we suck on the field, but there is no pride within the organization or fanbase anymore. We are like zombies or robots inside Arrowhead. This organization won't go anywhere until we clean house, get a new GM/HC/QB.

We have sucked as a whole for a long time now. The 90's and early 00's were fun but we were just good and not great. With that said I would take those days back in a heartbeat right now, along with a franchise that showed heart and charity amongst its fanbase.

of course not....everything about the Chiefs is uninspired, there is no passion within the organization and this translates into indifference (at best) and contempt (at worst) for the fanbase...

the idea that Clark could do nothing - and is responsible for nothing - beyond hiring a GM is also weird...every member of the Chiefs organization should be clear that winning a championship is the obsessive goal, and that cultivating the loyalty of the fans is job #1, and Clark has to send that message every day for it to be real...he has to have the passion and express it

I couldn't agree more. People are over simplifying Clark's role (or at least what his role should be) and the importance of the right culture in a business.
