Wow. Shocking. Bet that a LWNJ MSNBC comedian and 'contributor couldn't get a similar reaction from low-end gene pool types at a "Tea Party" rally. Uh-uh. No way, sir-ree!!
Incites? How's that...by being there? I'm amazed at the excuse. And you don't think there were liberal news correspondants at the Tea Party events...asking baited questions or trying to stir something up? Show me anything like this at a Tea Party gathering.

Save your outrage...I conceded both sides do it--I recall similar instances over past years. I'll let you google them for yourself though.

There is no "freeloading" involved.

Soooo...basically it has to be a requirement that if you get a job at a place that has a union, you MUST join said union. Otherwise you are freeloading.

...so it's not about workers rights...it's about UNION workers rights.

Yes, that is correct. The union only cares about the union.

I think I should point out that you could also say that the company only cares about the company. But there isn't legislation forcing you to continually buy stock in your company as a requirement for employment. In fact the law that was just struck down is worse than that, at least you can sell stock.

Weird. Because they didn't pay their dues, it is believed that they should not receive the same stuff...sounds kinda like our immigration fight in this country...just really weird...

Sure there is. If Worker A and B at Company both get the benefits that come with the worker's union, but only B pays to belong to the union, then A is freeloading. That's pretty much the very definition of freeload.

Sounds like "Right To Work" to me.

Individuals should have that right in any employment setting. My only problem with the union I was in many years ago, was I didn't want my dues going to support political ideas that I disagreed with. The union couldn't guarrantee that, so I chose to opt out.

Those benefits come from the company. In that situation worker B is paying someone to negotiate for him but worker A chooses not to. If the union wants to stay relevant enough to maintain membership, then they need to provide a service that is overwhelmingly beneficial for enough workers that non members are a tiny statistical outlier.

I understand. I wish my girlfriend was more of a freeloader, but she pays $500 a year to the union, while some of her co-workers who make more than twice her salary (because of the union), don't pay at all.

The unions do provide a service, which is why you see so many people not part of the union (and not employees who benefit but are nonmembers) hate them. Salary increases, time off, benefits.

It's like NPR. They provide a service, and are very relevant. I still don't donate because I'm a freeloader.
