I want my, I want my EBT.

http://www.whas11.com/home/Louisvill...183086301.html

Nope not a dire straits song, however she might be in dire straits if this gets prosecuted.

So the entitlement class now feels entitled to buy Ipads with foodstamps.

Never saw this coming.

Clearly the current EBT regulations are racist. Something must be done about this injustice. This is just another example of the GOP trying to keep the poor down.

Here's some food for thought:
Let's raise minimum wage to $20/hr, k. Uh oh, now businesses pay employees more, how does a business cover it's expenses? Yep raises prices. Thus nothing changes.

Assisting with college, we already assists with K-12 education for anyone that wants it, at no cost. Anyone that wants to work hard can succeed in life with just a HS diploma, however work hard is the operative word there.
Lots of options to go to college outside of free handouts, hell the gov paid for my college, not as a handout though, I gave them 4yrs of hard work for shit pay.

In the real world things like raising the minimum wage have the absolute opposite effect on the poor. When companies and service industries that actually pay min wages have those costs raised, they automatically pass that cost onto consumers for their goods.

Want groceries to go up even more? That'll help the poor.

No I don't think the minimum wage going up is going to do anything about getting people off welfare and I don't agree with raising it, however how are you going to get them off welfare without the ability to improve their financial situation?

As far as education goes, I agree that a person with a hs diploma can succeed with hard work, however the odds are stacked against them, and not everyone can serve in the military (especially since defense is bloated as much as it is now).

Hmm. I could see how I did that. I don't agree with raising the minimum wage, it would just cause inflation and I shouldn't have used it as a solution. I was thinking more in terms of raising wages overall.

The State of Missouri is completing an audit for EBT cards used to make car payments, at strip clubs, and in foreign countries. Evidently, those on government assistance can make can afford much better vacations than I can.

Meanwhile, here's a update on real fraud/waste/abuse.

Quote:
The F-35 program has had a troubled history. In 2010 the Pentagon disclosed that delays and cost overruns had resulted in a cost per aircraft that exceeded the original contract by 50 percent. Defense Secretary Robert Gates informed Congress of another 13 month production delay and budget increase of $3 billion. A 2011 Pentagon study cited 13 major problems. The F-35 integrated power package was described as unreliable and difficult to service. There were safety concerns about lightning protection and thermal management, as well as possible fire hazards in the fuel dump system. The study also revealed that the airframe was unlikely to last through the lifespan of the aircraft. If the F-35 were indispensable to the country's future security, cost considerations would properly take a back seat, but that is not the case. A Foreign Policy magazine survey of 76 top military experts in 2012 revealed that 26 of them rated the F-35 program as the top candidate for immediate elimination.

There's fraud and corruption in every government run program. If we shut down every program that had fraud, we wouldn't have a military. Or any government organization for that matter.
Sounds good to me.
