THONOTOSASSA, Fla. – A Tampa-Bay area man who authorities say attacked his neighbor with a hammer has been charged with second degree murder with a weapon.
A Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office press release says 28-year-old Jarrett Kyle Brooks was booked into jail late Saturday. It was not immediately known if he has an attorney.
Authorities say Brooks approached Jonathan Acree from behind at a Thonotosassa trailer park, striking him in the head and neck multiple times with a hammer.
Acree was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The sheriff's office SWAT team was called to the home where Brooks was barricaded. Authorities say he surrendered after tear gas was shot into the mobile home. There was no one else in the trailer.
Investigators have not released a motive for the attack.

So is the truck I drive an assault weapon too? It is capable of killing many at once.

It's one pull per bullet... All guns are like this man cmon... Some just look meaner...

The below guns are mine... Which ones need to be outlawed?

I never said, "assault rifle."

I said, assault weapon. Which is a more general term.

You seem to keep trying to get me to call them rifles when I am calling them weapons.

I don't consider an uzi a rifle, I consider it a weapon.

A truck can also do a myriad of normal, everyday, useful things. Other than killing people, your stockpile can do what, poke holes in pieces of paper?

Did you hear me say even once that I thought any of them needed to be outlawed? This is why it is impossible to debate with some people. Because they want to put words in your mouth in order to bring it back to what they want the argument to be about.

Let me turn it back on you. Where do you draw the line? Is there a limit in you mind? Grenade launchers? 50MM guns? Tanks? Suitcase nukes?

How about access? What type of background check should be done before someone buys a truckload of grenade launchers?

And everyone is making this issue of gun control way too complex. There is one reason, and one reason alone, that guns will never be completely "controlled" in this country.

Money. As in, there is way too much of it in hte gun industry.

Only the 50 MM is a gun

But Nuclear tipped bullets would be nice.

The problem is that you can't talk with righties who are deathly afraid of anything they don't understand. Everything is perceived as a potential threat to thier manhood or their liberty....

In this case, we have documented evidence of what the consequences are when we don't have a solution to a problem. Righties are always obstructing solutions because they are deathly afraid of change.

They fear the solution more than they care about fixing the problem. Seems like that is the pattern that has come to define the republican party. Scared to death of things that threaten their arcane world view...
Maybe they fear changing the wrong thing?

Why focus on guns, when pharmaceuticals, physicians, and parents need the real change?

Not all gun control measures are an attempt to repeal the second amendment. Some are just common sense or good public policy.
"Some"

Most are a hindrance and do nothing to solve the issues. Colorado and the aftermath legislation of Columbine is a perfect example.

Let's look logically. Guns were much more easily accessed 50 years ago. You could mail order weapons. Yet slaughters like Norway (Which has extreme gun regulation), Newton, and Aurora never happened. Obviously gun control is not even in the realm of the solution.

We need to correct the action, not the reaction. I would love to see as tough of legislation in obtaining Xanax and Zoloft as in obtaining a weapon.
