Rod Graves, Ken Whisenhunt AP

Arizona Cardinals General Manager Rod Graves and head coach Ken Whisenhunt have been fired.

Graves, who has been with the franchise since 1997, was fired today, and Whisenhunt was fired as well, ESPNís Adam Schefter reports.

The Cardinals have plenty of talent on defense and one of the gameís best playmakers at wide receiver, but in the end this move mostly comes down to the inability of Graves and Whisenhunt to find a competent starting quarterback. The disastrous decision to trade for Kevin Kolb and give him a lucrative new contract, and the teamís inability to land anyone better, has sealed the fate of Graves.

Now the Cardinals will look for a new coach and a new G.M. ó and those men will need to find a new quarterback.
sweet! now we can trade down a bit! / Pioli

How the **** hard is it to fire a coach and a GM at the same time? Why the **** we have to wait to figure out wtf is going on?

Out of spite.

I watch Chiefs games to laugh. Because I now despise everything about them, and will continue to as long as Pioli's in town.

Only would go after retreads as he had success with Kurt Warner. Do not want retread QBs. We still havn't learned. I don't give a shit what works for other teams it isn't working for us.

For what its worth, Whiz was the OC in Pitt for Roethlisbergers first 3 seasons when he went 29-11 as a starter and won a title.

With both Arians and Wisenhunt, we have two very good candidates to replace the Patriots way bullshit with a legitimately excellent franchise vision - the Steelers method. It's been successful through different coaches, quarterbacks, etc...; the Steelers do things the right way.

Arians/Whisenhunt + Doug Whaley as the GM.

I'd be completely okay with that.

Wisenhunt and Scooter are friends

Wiz could save Pioli's job.

According to whom? I've never seen a connection drawn between Pioli and Wisenhunt. They didn't have any overlap at Baltimore/Cleveland. Pioli left the year that Wisenhunt came in.
