*.* 2013 General Fitness Thread *.*

Welcome to 2013! Now get your ass in top physical condition!

**From the 2012 Thread**

If you want to get back into lifting, or need a new lifting routine, START HERE:

http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wi...inner_Programs

If you have questions about the SS programs, look here:

http://startingstrength.wikia.com/wiki/FAQ

Keep in mind that you're a novice lifter for a longer period of time than you think you are. Novice lifting can last anywhere from a few months to a year or two, depending on how hard you hit the weights and where you started.

Once you've reached the point where you don't make regular progress on the SS program, you are ready to move on to the intermediate stage, which can last you for a good number of years. Find it HERE:

http://madcow.hostzi.com/5x5_Program/Linear_5x5.htm

If you're a very advanced lifter (many, many years of CONSISTENT weight training), then there are lot of programs out there, and which one you pick is simply a matter of preference. If you're really that advanced, you should know what works for you and what doesn't by this point.

What do you all do for a warm up? On arm days, I spend five minutes on the elliptical. On leg days, I do ten minutes on the bike. Do you just stretch? I typically do some dynamic stretching to cool down. Especially on leg days.

Bike for 5 minutes, increasing resistance each minute.

Foam roll my entire body.

Increasing warm up sets before my first compound lift of the day.

I can already see some progress - tonight I worked Lats, and back, as well as shoulders again, a little.

Nice 40 min. workout - I went to Lettuce Surprise You (what garbage that is, these days) - I had a salad loaded w/ chicken and eggs.

I proteined today about three different times, a banana.

I mixed some tuna-salad, w/ minced green pepper, green onion + cilantro and olive oil, seasoned salt. on a wheat bun.

I've been hydrating properly, I'm right around 192 right now - at exactly 6' 1"

Damn it feels good to be gangsta

I normally do 20 minutes of walking before lifting. I think it is important for me to use my energy on building muscle instead of doing cardio and losing muscle and fat. Plus it is just more fun to throw the weights all over the place argagagaga

I guess it's pathetic that I recognize the names he's dropping, Tiesto and Danny Tenaglia.
