Start of NFL regular season will probably be Sunday, September 8th (Thursday night kickoff game on September 5th).

Royals have a home game scheduled on that Sunday, so a road opener is likely.

Isn't there usually an AFC West game during the Week 1 MNF doubleheader? I feel like there could be some excitement around a potential Andy Reid & Geno Smith (or whoever the #1 pick is) vs. John Fox & Peyton Manning showdown in Arrowhead... Probably wishful thinking, but that'd be awesome IMO.

I suppose it could happen considering the love for the NFC East in Prime Time.

Yeah, if the NFL knows what they're doing, they'll put Chiefs vs. Eagles in prime time. Probably an early season Thursday nighter.

Can home/away be predetermined? I've seen the sites that always show the future home/away games, but haven't ever looked into it.... I'd think the only way it could be predetermined is if it went home/away/home/away (or whatever pattern) for the select NFC and AFC division teams, but I don't think it does.

If it's not predetermined somehow, I'm sure it'll be in Philly... just adds to the storyline.

I know it's not, but it seems like we play both of them EVERY year and it's almost like having two extra teams in the division.
