If Reid and Dorsey draft Tyler Wilson or Matt Barkley at first overall, I will be totally fine with that. We are all on the Geno train because we believe he is the best overall QB prospect, as do almost all of the so-called experts.

If Reid and Dorsey draft any other position at first overall, they are making a major mistake that has nothing to do with them being smarter or knowing more, and everything to do with a massive miscalculation on their part of the state of this franchise and its fan base.

Here are a few fun facts:

Chiefs haven't drafted a QB in the first round in 30 years.
Chiefs haven't won a playoff game in 19 years.
Chiefs have the one of, if not, THE WORST quarterback trio in the league.
Chiefs have the first overall draft pick.
Geno Smith is widely considered the best QB in the draft.
The chiefs will not win any meaningful games until they have a legitimate QB.

I just think the people who are Geno or bust should accept that there are other guys we could pick as well (Wilson, Barkley) and if we do pick them, we should give them a shot, not quit on the franchise.

***** was a huge bust, but I sure as hell like the Packers tree far more than the Patriots tree. They've had good success in other places.

But I agree with your cautionary feelings as I share that same viewpoint.
