Pioli lucked into a 6th round Qb.

Reid picked a QB 2nd overall who many thought was worth that pick.

Two extremely different situations.

Well, he was rationalizing a bit yes, but he said some interesting things.

He's ok with a 4th but not with a 3rd, which echoes a lot of people here.

Said if Dorsey is as great as everybody says he is, a 3rd rounder is a starter, so that's a bad trade.

He said Alex Smith really isn't all that different than Matt Cassel, which many people don't want to hear. Here's the ultimate "play it safe" guy saying it.

He said he think the fans would be ok with it, but mostly because the guy isn't Cassel, not because the guy is a slam dunk.

He also he thinks the reports of the Chiefs being impressed with Geno is about the Chiefs trying to trade down.

Just saw Mooch's interview with Geno. I find it odd that a gifted genius that understood things better than his classmates struggled to understand a simple play drawn on the board.

He forgot the play, it wasn't that he didn't comprehend.

But not shocking that you saw it that way.

It wasn't a simple play. And he was shown that play for 10 seconds and then had to redraw it after a 15 minute delay where Mooch was doing his best to throw him off his game.

Petro just re-iterated that Alex Smith is not that much better than Cassel.

Alex Smith has been sacked at a pretty high rate. Doesn't push the ball down the field, which limits turnovers.

So yeah, Alex Smith sounds a lot like Matt Cassel.
